Giving Starts Here

Apr 23, 2025 10:29AM ● By Yolo Community Foundation News Release

YOLO COUNTY, CA (MPG) - On Thursday, April 17, more than 150 community members came together to celebrate philanthropy at the Yolo Community Foundation’s fourth annual Yolo Philanthropy Breakfast, held at the Hotel Winters. The breakfast marked the first day of the Big Day of Giving season, as early giving opened that day.

During the event, Yolo Community Foundation thanked nonprofits for their tremendous work to serve Yolo County and honored the spirit of generosity in Yolo County. The title sponsor was Nugget Market, and Davis Wills & Trusts along with Yolo Federal Credit Union were the supporting sponsors.

The Big Day of Giving will take place on May 1, (but early giving is already open), and more than 120 Yolo County nonprofits are participating this year.

“Our nonprofits just don’t fill the gaps, you partner, you innovate, and you lead. You respond quickly and compassionately to the needs of our people. And most importantly, you do this with purpose and heart. Thats why the Big Day of Giving matters so much,” said Assembly Majority Leader Cecilia Aguiar-Curry at the event.

Donors can learn about and support the participating Yolo County nonprofits by going to bigdayofgiving.org/yolocounty now through May 1.

This Big Day of Giving, the Yolo Community Foundation invites the local community to Learn, Share and Give.
