FAIR OAKS/CARMICHAEL, CA (MPG) - As part of an emphasis on celebrating the true meaning of Easter, all are invited to a special Good Friday musical performance that will be presented at 7 p.m. on April 18 by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the Carmichael Stake Center. Location is 4125 San Juan Ave. in Fair Oaks.

Choirs from each of the stake’s five congregations consisting of Latter-day Saints and their friends from Carmichael, Fair Oaks, Citrus Heights and Orangevale will present a musical number that will focus on the Savior Jesus Christ. A brief commentary will introduce each musical selection, as well as detailing the significance of the Easter season.

After the hourlong performance, complimentary refreshments will be served.

“The Easter season is much more than the Easter bunny and candy,” said Carmichael Stake President Todd Johnson of Fair Oaks. “‘It is about Jesus Christ’s infinite and redemptive sacrifice and his glorious resurrection for all of us. We hope to celebrate with the community the risen Savior, emphasizing why this season is so important to all Christians and people of faith.”

In addition, special congregational Easter programs with hymns celebrating the season will be presented during hourlong sacrament meetings on Easter morning, Sunday, April 20.

The public is invited to attend any of the following services: (Fair Oaks) Garfield Ward, 9 a.m. at 4125 San Juan Ave.; Fair Oaks Park Ward, 9 a.m. at 8267 Deseret Ave.; San Juan Ward, 11 a.m. at 4125 San Juan Ave.; Deseret Ward, 11:30 a.m. at 8267 Deseret Ave. (Orangevale) Phoenix Park Ward, 10:30 a.m. at 5439 Main Ave.
