Yolo County Residents Invited to a Free Fruit Tree Care Class
Jan 23, 2025 11:19AM ● By Yolo County News ReleaseWOODLAND, CA (MPG) - Yolo County residents are invited to learn about fruit tree care with Bonnie Berman, a UC Master Gardener from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25 at the Hanna & Herbert Bauer Memorial Community Garden located at 137 N. Cottonwood St. in Woodland.
This free interactive class is presented by the Yolo County Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) and will focus on fruit tree pruning, common fruit tree pests and how to control them, as well as tips on how to improve the lifespan of your fruit trees. Winter is the optimal time to care for your fruit trees to help them stay healthy and productive.
Pre-registration is required by Jan. 24 and can be completed by contacting Nick Gazda at [email protected] or at (530) 666-8429. Please dress for cold weather and wear shoes that can get dirty. In the event of steady rain, the class will be moved indoors.
This class is open to everyone and supports the Yolo County Health and Human Services Agency’s mission to educate residents on incorporating more fresh fruits and vegetables into their diets. The Yolo County Health and Human Services Agency offers free community garden classes year-round.
