Mar 01, 2024 10:15AM ● By MPG StaffWEST SACRAMENTO (MPG) – Rain and wind are expected this weekend but no major weather advisories have been issued by either Yolo County or the City of West Sacramento. Yolo County Public Information Officer, Dwight Coddington said that the county is not over concerned about the amount of rain that is coming but that PG&E is expecting the high winds to cause downed trees and limbs. Both PG&E and Yolo County urge people to be cautious when walking outside.
For those that are concerned about flooding, West Sacramento is offering free sand bags to protect your property. The West Sacramento Public Works Departments provides free sand and bags. These are available at the Port of West Sacramento, located at 2895 Industrial Blvd. Bags can be picked up at the guard shack. Residents are advised to bring their own shovels.
To report any minor flooding, clogged storm drains, or downed trees, please use the “West Sac Connect App” or call Public Works at (916)617-4850.
