Bridge Construction to Close US 50 in West Sacramento Overnights Feb. 28-March 1

WEST SACRAMENTO, CA (MPG) – A section of US-50 will be temporarily closed overnight on Wednesday, February 28 and early Friday morning, March 1 for construction of the Sycamore Trail Pedestrian Overcrossing.
Traffic will be rerouted onto Interstate 80 and Interstate 5 and West Sacramento surface streets during this time for removal of steel falsework bridge deck framing over US-50.
Westbound 50 will be closed between I-5 and Harbor Blvd. from 11 p.m. Wednesday, February 28 until Thursday, February 29 at 3 a.m.
Eastbound 50 will be closed between I-80 and Jefferson Blvd from 12 a.m. to 4 a.m. Friday, March 1.
Detour signs will be posted with traffic officers assisting throughout the time of construction.

The Sycamore Trail Overpass is expected to be completed in the summer of 2024, providing a much-needed pedestrian and bicycle route connecting the north and south neighborhoods of the city.
