WEST SACRAMENTO, CA (MPG) - On January 15, 2024, at approximately 10:30 p.m., officers responded to a shooting incident at the Circle K located at 1705 West Capital Ave.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a victim with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital, but later succumbed to injuries.

On January 16, 2024, detectives arrested the suspect, charging the person for the shooting and additional offenses: possession of a handgun by a prohibited person and anunrelated active felony warrant for firearm possession.

The incident originated from a physical altercation between two adult males; the motive is still under investigation. Importantly, no outstanding suspects remain, ensuring there is no ongoing threat to the public.
