Senior Lounge Offers Variety of Social Programs and Events
Dec 20, 2023 02:07PM ● By West Sacramento Community Center News ReleaseWEST SACRAMENTO, CA (MPG) - The West Sacramento Community Center features a Senior Lounge, where seniors can enjoy complimentary coffee and snacks while they explore a variety of social programs and events designed to keep them active and engaged.
The West Sacramento Community Center would like to announce the following upcoming free 2024 workshops opened to local seniors 50 or better. Membership is not required.
Cal Fresh Presents Healthy Practice for Everyday Living, January 10th, 1 pm to 2 pm. Learn how to incorporate easy and healthy practices for everyday living. There will be free samples.
Live Strong and Safe, March 5th, 1 pm to 2 pm, presented by Agency on Aging, Area 4. Learn about consequences of falls in older adults and ways to prevent falls. Home safety will also be discussed, and a complimentary night light will be available to all participants at the end of the workshop.
How to Prevent Insurance Fraud and Scams, March 11th, 11 am to 12 pm, presented by California Department of insurance. The presenter will discuss preventing fraud, financial abuse, common scams, insurance fraud and discuss the California Low-Cost insurance program.
Resources for Independent Living (RIL), April 5th, 11 am to 12 pm. RIL will discuss how to best prepare in case a disaster strikes.
CAL Fresh Presents Smart Strategies for Healthy Food Shopping, Planning And Preparation, April 10th, 1 pm to 2 pm. Learn smart strategies for healthy food shopping, planning and preparation. There will be free samples at the end of the workshop.
