WEST SACRAMENTO, CA (MPG) - West Sac Kids Give Back held their annual Care Pack Assembly night on Sunday, and it was considered to be a huge success. An estimated 200 people gathered at City Hall to assemble Care Packs for our local unhoused. Care Packs included soap, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, socks, gloves and hats. These items were collected by the West Sac Kids Give Back organization prior to this event.
The long line of people of all ages grabbed a big Ziploc bag, placed one of each item in the bag and then placed it on a table where representatives from organizations throughout West Sacramento gathered the packs for future use. While the work was being done, fun things were available too. There was a table where kids could get temporary tattoos, there was a face painting station, there were cookies and treats being served. There were giant “Thank You” cards being made for West Sacramento’s First Responders. There were Christmas Carols and photos with Santa as well.

Girl Scouts helped community members assemble Care Packs.
This very festive event was a great way to work with the community in taking care of others in our community when they really need a hand. West Sac Kids Give Back wants to thank Andy Domek, Balance Dance Project, Cheryl Sutton & RCHS Culinary Academy, Former City Council Member Chris Ledesma, City Council Member Dawnte Earky, City Council Member Verna Sculpizio, City of West Sacramento, County Supervisor Oscar Villegas, DJ Flash Estebee, Habitat for Humanity, Jeff Henry, Lenise’s Café, Mile Preschool, Our Lady of Grace school, Uplift Martial Arts, West Sac Arsenal Camp Team, West Sacramento Cub Scout Pack 49, West Sacramento Fire Dept., West Sac Girl Scout Troops 2008 and 2023, West Sacramento Knitting & Crochet Club, West Sacramento Police Department, Whiteys, and every community member who donated to buy supplies and who came out to help assemble.
