Rick and Genna Miller today.

WEST SACRAMENTO, CA (MPG) - Rick and Genna Miller were married on December 6, 1968, at First Baptist Church in West Sacramento. Rick & Genna were raised here and graduated from James Marshall High School in the late 1960’s.  Their two children are Laurie Miller Melson and Shawn Miller and one grandson, Alexander Christian Reed.

Rick and Genna Miller circa 1968.

Rick worked for his family’s business, Miller’s TV, with his parents, Al and Laverne Miller, on Merkley Avenue for over 20 years.  He also worked as a bus driver for Sacramento City Unified School District and then retired from Bing Maloney Golf Course after 20 years of service and his love of golf.  He also coached and managed Shawn’s baseball teams at West Sacramento Little League.

Genna worked for the State of California and for Washington Unified School District where she ultimately retired as a para-educator in special education.  Her combined service as a civil servant is over 40 years! However, her love of family and being a stay-at-home mom in the early years was her most important role.  She kept our family together through prayer and never gave up when times were tough.

Together they enjoy an uncomplicated life of painting, playing Jeopardy and other game shows on TV, eating out at restaurants and being with their family and each other.

Congratulations to Mom and Dad for your commitment and dedication to each other over the years!!!  You did it and we are a blessed family because of your love, honor and respect for each other!
