Bicyclist Struck on Hwy 99 taken to Enloe Hospital

GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) – In the afternoon hours of Sunday, January 23rd, a vehicle struck a bicyclist attempting to cross Highway 99.
The subject was hit in front of McDonald’s in the south bound lanes of the busy thoroughfare. Gridley Police Department, CALFIRE/Gridley Fire Department, and Butte County EMS responded to assist the male subject. A helicopter was called in to transport the individual to Enloe Hospital for medical treatment, but due to circumstances regarding the injured man’s state at the time of the accident, he was taken by ambulance instead of air.
The injured party cannot be identified due to the nature of the call and medical privacy.
