GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) - Orchard Hospital Auxiliary (OHA) hosted members of Orchard Hospital’s administrative team, providers, members of the Orchard Hospital Foundation, and guests at its annual Fall Luncheon.

The Auxiliary has supported Orchard Hospital for over 46 years. The OHA volunteers for the hospital provide services to patients and visitors, including running the gift shop, calling those in need of daily welfare checks, and of course, raising funds for the hospital.

On behalf of the Auxiliary, member Pat Scheyer presented Orchard Hospital CEO Steve Stark a check in the amount of $4,500 total. The board donated $3,000 of that total sum to provide new signage for the hospital, which has been damaged by regular wear and tear. The remaining $1,500 was donated towards a machine that checks for coagulation in the blood, monitoring people on blood thinners or other medications.

The OHA will be moving from its current location in the lobby of the hospital, taking up home in the Medical Specialty Center Clinic. Stark shares that this will allow the hospital to expand its waiting room area and protect auxiliary members from potential exposure to severe illnesses.

The Auxiliary is currently looking for volunteers to help in many aspects of the group’s regular functions. If you would like to become a member of the Orchard Hospital Auxiliary and volunteer your time towards a great cause, please call (530) 846-9000.
