BIGGS, CA (MPG) – Biggs High School recently added some color to its campus in the form of a mural.

The high school has undergone a remodel over the last few years, and in some areas, doorways or windows were removed. According to Principal and Biggs Unified School District Superintendent Doug Kaelin, the facing of the buildings, a pebble or stone texture, could not be replaced leaving patches of smoother areas. It was decided that murals would be the perfect fix for those spots around campus.

The newest mural, painted by Christine MacShane, is definitely a stunner and a source of pride for BHS. It is located on the outside of one of the buildings used by Biggs FFA and Ag department and features a design honoring that department.

Kaelin says the plan is to add a few more murals around the school in areas that were left in need of beautification after the remodel or other areas, such as the gym. Kaelin shares that the school hopes to have a new Wolverine mural added to the gym walls in the future.

As for this mural, Kaelin says, “the kids love it” and he agrees, “It’s absolutely gorgeous. I mean, you couldn’t ask for anything better.”
