City Hosts Mental Health Film Screening

“What I Wish My Parents Knew,” a 45-minute film that explores the inner struggle of children battling depression and anxiety in silence will be hosted by the City of West Sacramento on Feb. 18.
WEST SACRAMENTO, CA (MPG) - West Sacramento Parks and Recreation is hosting a screening of “What I Wish My Parents Knew,” a 45-minute film that explores the inner struggle of children battling depression and anxiety in silence.
Ten youth bravely share their pain living in crisis and express their feelings about what they wish their families would have known. The screening is followed by a Q&A session.
The screening will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18 at the West Sacramento Recreation Center. Light refreshments will be provided.
An in-depth discussion facilitated by a mental health professional will follow the screening. This session provides an opportunity for attendees to ask questions, share their struggles and gain insights on supporting youth mental well-being.
